IS LISTIA A SCAM!!!???
I have heard soooo many things about people thinking Listia is a scam and blah blah blah so i just really wanted to clear some things up. I've read some pretty bad reviews which almost makes you question even wanting to open up and account. On the other hand, I think these people just maybe have lack of knowledge of the internet and ways to know some is making a fake auction or in sense "scamming you" of your credits because keep in mind once you get enough credits you can exchange them for real money or into your paypal account.
NO Listia is NOT a scam!!
Don't listen to these people. Listia is filled with real sellers and real buyers with legitimate products for pictures. I have won auctions and got them mailed right to my door within two weeks. Here are a couple tips to keep in mind when using listia.
VERY IMPORTANT- Tips to NOT getting scammed!
1. Do not bid on an item that is usually great value but occasionally the odd non-expensive items will be listed as "Digital Delivery" Pay attention to this!!!!! Think about it, you can't buy a ps4 over digital delivery for 2000 credits. If it seems too good to be true, its probably not! The only things you can get digital delivery is codes and e-gift cards! Maybe music but it's just common sense.
2. Do NOT try and make two accounts within the same household, either one or both accounts will be shut down and you will lose your credits. Very simple, they tell you this in the beginning so negative comments saying they shut down for no reason, these people might not understand the rules.
3. Always check out the seller's profile before considering a offer. Do they have good feedback? Have they sold stuff before? Which % or positive feedback do they have? Most of the time i wont bid if they have 0% but sometimes, they might be new.
4. Timing is key!! Always wait till the last minute to bid if you can. Bidding continuously for days on something that is still 6 days away is just outbidding yourself! Save it in your watch list and then if you're able to bid within the last minute or whatever you feel comfortable doing, then do that. Everyone will have their own way of doing it i just find that works the best!
5. Don't forget to always give feedback to items you receive in the mail. People will give you a buyer's feedback and bring your rating up as well.
6. Leave a question, if the seller does not respond or can't even type proper grammar, do not bid on this item. People get scammed every day this is a huge red flag.
7. I've also never given credit card information, paypal accounts, or verified my account through my bank. I don't personally trust these things but it seems like they do it all the time. You can get around Listia just fine without having to do those things.
8. To get items 100% free when you are searching through the website make sure that shipping to your country is selected as well as "free shipping". Some shipping is not too cheap if you are interested.
9. And lastly, if you're going to sell stuff on listia which is by the way very easy and helpful in getting credits, you can re-use packaging when shipping to save money if wanted.
Some things I've received!
